The e-FER platform is a clinical decision-making simulator used in the initial training of future nurses and in continuing education of active nurses. The platform allows simulating the decision-making process in the treatment of virtual chronic wounds cases. The e-FER platform was developed by a group of researchers from the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria in collaboration with the Distance Learning Unit.

The e-FER platform has been improved over time and at this stage an augmented reality application is being developed to make the clinical cases more immersive and enhance students learning.
